The Tyrone Shamrocks

Soccer fields

Soccer has been part of the fabric of our village for well over a century — some say close to 140 years. Local legend has it that the very first match featured the Tyrone Shamrocks facing off against the Enniskillen Dragoons.

Over the years, our teams have proudly played under many names — including the Tyrone Tigers and Tyrone Athletics — but today, we’ve come full circle, returning to our roots as the Tyrone Shamrocks.

We operate under the umbrella of the Darlington Soccer Club, believed by many to be the oldest soccer club in North America.

Our programs welcome players of all ages and skill levels, with teams starting at U6 and extending through youth, coed, and all-girls divisions. We’re also proud to have a Ladies Team representing Tyrone in the Sunday Night League at the Hydro Fields.

For a small community, Tyrone consistently punches above its weight. This past season, several of our teams went undefeated, and four teamsU12 Coed, U12 Girls, U14 Girls, and the Tyrone Ladies — finished at the top of their leagues, capturing both league titles and playoff championships.

Registration typically opens in January and is completed online through the Darlington Soccer Club website.

We’re deeply grateful to our coaches, sponsors, and volunteers who keep this long-standing tradition alive year after year.
